Remember, there is no "gift of singleness". This is a modern invention created to suit our culture and it is not Biblical. There is a distinction between deliberate and dedicated celibate service (like St Paul)... and simply being single! Due to the lack of men in church circles, single Christian women must also look outside of church circles for a believing partner, if they wish to enjoy the blessings of marriage in a timely manner. So ladies, please come and enjoy events such as our Valentine's bash! But do not limit yourself to solely Christian social events either, if you would like to "be fruitful and multiply" as God commanded us to!

Feedback from our Christmas party:

"Hi, this is just to say a big thank you for last Friday. I chatted to lots of people, laughed lots and danced just the right amount. It was good having some indepth conversations with a couple of people about the problems of churches and singles which was a real encouragment along with the general lift of knowing there are lots of other Christians in London. I hope you enjoyed last friday and that you have a great Christmas."
"Just want to say thanks for organising these events. We met at your Christmas party in Corks wine bar and are now engaged!. Keep up the good work.God bless."

Feedback from the Fire and Ice Winter Warmer party, 21st Nov:

"Just to say thank you for organising another great night out for us single christians. The night had an excellent vibe and a great mixture of people - load of men as well - wow - things are looking up! Look forward to the next and once again, a big thank you!"
"Friday 21st was good. More of a contemporary club atmosphere. You know when it's Friday night, people just want to chill, take a drink or two, mingle with new people, dance a bit. The event was a lot different from previous Christian singles events I've been to..."

Feedback from the Jam Hot Mega Party, 30th August:

"Thanks for organising this long awaited event for us Christian singles. It was my first ever and I'm happy to say that I'll gladly go to your next event. Please don't let there be such a long wait for the next one."
"Hi, this is just to say a big thank you for last night and I hope you enjoyed it. Once again, it was a beautifully mental night with very good numbers and a great buzz."
"HI attended one of your events for the first time and enjoyed it very much. It was nice to meet up with other Christian outside my circle of friends. And I very much look forward to the next event of yours in the very near future."
"Thank you all for a very enjoyable party on Saturday."
"Well done and thank you – a great event! It was heaving! There was a really friendly, ‘mingly’ atmosphere there. I met quite a few people. People I spoke to were very positive and thought it was a great event too."

Food for thought: Is Singleness Really A "Gift"?

Just since the 1970s, Christians have been told there is a "gift of singleness", but is it really true? What does the Bible actually say about singleness, and is it really right to call it a spiritual "gift"? How did what was traditionally regarded as a rare gifting for renouncing marriage and living a celibate life, become a widespread gift of "singleness" - within just the time period of our current generation - and what are the repercussions we are seeing today? Are we actually in danger of following our culture rather than the Bible with regard to singleness, and at the same time, super-spiritualising it all in terms of "waiting on the Lord"? Should singles be told to "be content" if they express any desire to be married? Is a fear of commitment being disguised as "seeking God's best"? Does "trusting in the Lord" really mean it is wrong to purposefully try to meet someone for marriage? And if we are single, does that mean it is necessarily "God's will" that we are? London Christians and Debbie Maken(author of Getting Serious About Getting Married: Rethinking the Gift of Singleness) don't think so! Remember, singleness is NOT a gift according to the Bible!

Feedback from the Valentine's Party, 8th February:

"Hi, this is just to say a massive thank you for organising Friday night. I really enjoyed it and thought there was a very good buzz about the place. On a personal level, I really didn't want it to end. Events like that really do make a difference - I saw lots of people exchanging details etc but it also gives a big encouragement that there are other normal, sane, single christians out there."
"My friend and I enjoyed the party very much. We will look out for your other events."
"I wanted to say thanks for last night, it was a good night."
"Thanks for organising the Valentine's Party, which was a great event."
"I attended the valentine party and found the atmosphere was great."
"I am just writing to say thank you for organising such a good party on Friday night. The venue is excellent, people really appreciated being able to use the pool tables. The disco was excellent. It was just a pity the men are so slow at asking the girls out!! I do hope you do use the venue again as it works well."
"I just wanted to say, although I didn't meet the girl of my dreams last night I still had a really good night, thanks for organising it, I'll look forward to the next one :)"
"Really enjoyed the feb8th do in binney street."
"Meant to thank you for the great party we had and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Thank you once more and look forward to seeing you next time. Great job and God bless you always."

Remember, there is no such thing as the "gift of singleness", and we commend The New Living Translation for removing this phrase from their most recent editions.
See www.thegiftofsingleness.blogspot.com for more on this rogue doctrine and the successful on-going campaign to eliminate it from our churches. Recommended reading for all Christian singles is the landmark book: "Getting Serious About Getting Married - Rethinking the gift of singleness" by Debbie Maken.
It is the view of London Christians that in addition to attending Christian social events, single Christian women that desire marriage and who would like to have children of their own, need to look outside of church circles for a believing man to marry. This is because the church at the moment is very female-heavy, and there simply are not enough single men to go around. Please encourage your church leader to focus on reaching men rather than their current focus on women and children, and be open to meeting believing men from outside of church circles.

"Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for all you are doing in arranging events – it really is much appreciated. Although I was uncertain at first, I do feel encouraged that after three such events, I AM meeting new guys and there are new relationships developing"
"I must say I have been to a few singles events in London and there was nowhere near that number of men there. I believe there is something in the air and there is a release for people to step into, to enter their destiny. It is starting to happen, early days yet but God will bring it to pass"
"Everybody had a great time and several people (male and female) left the party having met people from other churches that they will be seeing again on their own"
"London Christians is working :-)"

"Just to say thank you for an awesome event on Saturday night – I had a great time, and thought there was a really good vibe there – I even 'quizzed' a few of the folks there and everyone seemed really positive. In fact every person I spoke to was from a different church, which is really rich. All the best with the incredible work you are doing."
"Just a quick msg to say thanks and well done for a fun evening on Saturday - keep up all the good work!"

My friend who I dragged along and says she hates 'those kinds of things' enjoyed herself because it was easy going and easy to chat with people. It was a good venue and a fab atmosphere. Looking forward to the next party"

Feedback from the Summer Night's Dream party on 19th August:

"Wow! What a party! It's wonderful to see a group of Christians having such FUN together! The live music was excellent and the other music pitched just right. The venue is cool and was nicely decorated. It was also SO encouraging to see the party advertised as having 'a sprinkling of romance' and some evidence of guys actually responding to this! That's what we desperately need - there's far too much singleness around! Congratulations London Christians - keep it up!"
"I just wanted to say thanks for a great night on Saturday – I came with five friends and we all had a ball! Keep up the great work and I look forward to the next event - hope to come with more recruits!"
"Thanks for organising such an enjoyable evening last night. I look forward to attending other events. The 'Vicar' was something else!!! Really believed in him on first arriving!!!"

"It was such a good party on Saturday; what a lovely atmosphere!! Just to say thank you for the wonderful ministry in which you serve God and His people so diligently. It is so nice to learn that you pray over the list of attendees"
"Just to say well done and a big thank you for organising Saturday night. It was the first time I have been to one of these events, and I was not sure about the whole thing, but I had a really good time"
"It would be criminal of me not to commend you on Saturday's event. The music, in my mind, played a central part in the evening – it was simple, entertaining and of an excellent quality... something to focus on and thoroughly enjoy and be a part of! I brought my cousin from New York and was a bit apprehensive about taking her to an event that I myself had never been to – worried that we couldn’t compete with the legendary New York social scene and that she would not enjoy herself. Needless to say, you scored – big time!!! She loved the whole idea, the intimacy of it and the openness of people to step out and dance to their hearts’ delight. And the music? I needn't say more!! I myself had fun – all apprehension has now been thrown to the wind and I will certainly be coming for more quality nights out with you guys!"
"I had a lovely evening and look forward to the next one"
"That event was a lot of fun. When is the next one?"
"Just wanted to let you know that my friends and I had a great night. We will definitely recommend your next party to our other friends as we really enjoyed ourselves"
"There is a story going round that there was a great party last night and now most of my church want to know where and when the next one is. Once again congratulations on a very good night."
"Great party – well worth recommending. The dance floor was packed with people cheering and clapping. If anyone asked me what it was like, I would say, you missed out mate!"
